Calero extends SaaS management to shadow AI, covering Copilot, Claude and token costs across 3,000+ customers

SaaS management vendor Calero (self-described 2026 Gartner MQ Leader, 3,000+ customers in 102 countries) announced on Sep 14 that its platform now manages AI consumption alongside seats and telecom:
- Shadow AI discovery: agentless scanning of the customer environment to detect and classify AI and AI-enabled tools by vendor, function, and capability—catching free tools and card-bought usage credits that bypass finance.
- Hybrid license management: traditional seats managed next to token entitlements, with named connectors for Copilot, Cursor, and Claude.
- Spend alerts for AI consumption costs.
President Eric Martorano says AI is entering enterprises faster than any technology Calero has managed in 30 years—"with a meter running." It signals AI spend visibility becoming a new IT-finance category.
