GEO Scam Watch: 'AI Citation' Vendor Got 1 Hit in 1.5M LLM Citations

Malte Landwehr calls out websites advertising "built for AI citations" services: he believes the business model can work, but in 100% of pitches he received, the seller's site wasn't actually cited by LLMs.
He happens to track the exact prompts one such site targets: out of the last 1.5 million citations, their domain appeared once—less than 0.0001%. SEO practitioner Lily Ray adds that these vendors may just be searching for their own clients in logged-in ChatGPT accounts, where personalized results create a false impression of citations.
