Baseten and Base Labs launch safety infrastructure for open models
soleio · x · 2026-09-17
Baseten and Base Labs are partnering to build a stronger safety and security standard for open models. They argue openness is an advantage for AI safety, offering more visibility into model behavior and better means of turning safety research into transparent, actionable controls.
The split of work: Base Labs will develop and publish methods for training and monitoring open models, while Baseten integrates the work into its deployment infrastructure live at runtime and offers it as a managed service.
