Open-source music model YuE2 sparks debate: pro musician says it's still not Suno-level

The open-source music generation model YuE2 is stirring debate in the community. A demo (starting at 1:30) was shared with the jab that "if you still think it's bad, your taste is the problem."
A professional musician with 13 years of experience and a Suno user since before v3 pushed back: YuE2 is a promising model with real potential, but it simply isn't at Suno's level yet — and in his view, no other model currently is. Others called its output "trash." The takeaway: open-source music models still lag Suno noticeably, though the community expects rapid progress.
