Baseten partners with Goodfire and ba labs on safety and interpretability for open models

Baseten founder ThomWolf announced a collaboration with ba labs and GoodfireAI to advance safety, security and interpretability research for open models, arguing the community can establish common practice as open models catch up to frontier performance — and clarifying that "open" was confused with "unmonitored" in past debates. Researcher JJitsev endorsed it as the right way to leverage open-source advantages for safety research.
