Apple reportedly planning server comeback with Nvidia to cash in on AI compute demand

According to The Information, Apple is planning a return to the server business and may partner with Nvidia to make it happen. Apple retired its Xserve line in 2011 and has largely stayed out of enterprise hardware since. Surging AI compute demand has apparently convinced the company that its powerful yet efficient ARM-based M processors have an opening — Mac Mini and Mac Studio have proven popular with AI developers, to the point of shortages. The server product, whatever it ends up being called, reportedly won't debut until 2029 at the earliest.
