alphaXiv launched "Six degrees of Yann LeCun," a tool built on the coauthorship graph of every AI researcher on arXiv. Enter any two names to find the shortest chain of papers connecting them — Erdős number style, where direct coauthors score a 1.
Stats computed as of September 15, 2026: 57.7% of researchers have a LeCun number of 3, 17.9% a 2, 20.5% a 4, and just 0.4% a 1. Paths only count authors linked to a researcher profile and use the newest public version of each paper.
