UChicago researcher hiring predoc for AI x econ with co-first-author papers
ethayarajh · x · 2026-09-17
Kawin Ethayarajh is hiring a predoc at UChicago to work on AI x economics — ideal for econ backgrounds moving into AI research or vice versa. Unusually for a predoc, the hire gets PhD-student-level research freedom and (co-)first authorship on papers. Topics span post-training, alignment, AI governance, and the economics of AI, with flexibility to go further afield. Reference: his mecha-nudges paper (Outstanding Paper at ICML TAIGR workshop, Spotlight at EC's Game Theory with LLMs workshop).
