LLMs' subtler hallucination: confidently winging plans for tasks they know nothing about

Alex Godofsky observes that while LLMs don't hallucinate much anymore, a subtler form persists: ask them to put together a plan for tasks where they have no real knowledge or experience, and they will 'just kind of wing it' — confidently and in a way that's hard to gainsay. This confident improvisation is harder to detect than factual errors.
