Bain Capital Ventures announced it has raised $1.6B in total capital for Fund XI. Partners Slater Stich, Kevin Zhang, and C. Melas-Kyriazi paired the announcement with an essay tracing the firm's 1987 founding mantra — make money, have fun, live with integrity — and drawing on the 1920s electrification boom to argue how venture capital should position itself in the current technological revolution, particularly AI.
