Speaking with Marc Benioff at Dreamforce 2026, Sam Altman laid out how OpenAI's models stack up in math: GPT 5.5 is roughly an average math professor, GPT 5.6 is around the top 1-2 percentile, and Astra is slightly better still. He also revealed an internal model beyond Astra that can do things the best mathematicians in the world cannot. Full video on YouTube.
