LLM Handles Flexibility, Rules Enforce Accuracy: Fraud and Document AI Patterns
goyalshaliniuk · x · 2026-09-16
Continuing a thread on hybrid "LLM + deterministic rules" architectures:
- Document processing: the LLM extracts information from invoices, contracts and forms; a rules layer validates required fields, checks dates and totals, detects missing info and rejects invalid formats. The LLM handles messy input while rules enforce accuracy.
- Fraud detection: the LLM explains transaction patterns and summarizes suspicious activity; strict fraud/risk policies flag unusual transactions, block rule violations, request extra verification and route high-risk cases to human review.
