A 35k-Parameter WebGPU Model Turns English Into Cron Expressions in 31KB
shuding · x · 2026-09-16
Inspired by shuding and imarikchakma, a developer trained a tiny 35k-parameter model that infers cron expressions from English, running in-browser on WebGPU. Trained with MLX, shipped as packed 6-bit weights plus a specialized WGSL shader—just 31KB after Brotli compression. The demo sparked a wave of similar in-browser micro-model projects.
