Too many sub-agents burn tokens for zero quality gain, warns Anthropic engineer
patricksrail · x · 2026-09-16
@pvncher (Anthropic) argues that running more than 2 sub-agents at once almost certainly burns tokens with no quality gain — because agents don't trust each other and waste calls double-checking each other's work. @patricksrail replies that Ultra mode seems to work this way anyway. A useful rule of thumb for anyone designing multi-agent workflows.
