Anthropic, Fluidstack and Cipher pledge $10M to fix a Texas town's water system

Fluidstack, together with Cipher Digital and Anthropic, is committing $10 million to upgrade Colorado City, Texas' aging water infrastructure, with funds managed by a newly created local nonprofit.
The move follows a July storm that knocked out the city's well pump station, leaving residents without reliable water for four days. Local leaders identified needed improvements — pumps, valves, storage — at a cost of $10 million, which the three companies are funding in full. Fluidstack notes its Barber Lake campus draws no municipal water, pumping and filtering brackish water on-site, and frames the donation as support for the community hosting its data center.
