Quantum computing researcher and UT Austin CS chair Scott Aaronson writes in a blog post that AI companies, burned by the hostile reception of a Navier-Stokes proof, are now sitting on solutions to some very major problems until they find a better way to release them — suggesting frontier labs may already hold major mathematical breakthroughs they're withholding.
