ML practitioner Andriy Burkov says he doesn't care which coding agent he uses — Codex, Claude Code, or Grok. He actually runs all three simultaneously to work around each subscription's usage limits.
That's bad news for all of them, he argues: users form strong preferences for browsers and operating systems, but coding agents are interchangeable — if ten cheaper alternatives appear tomorrow, he'd rotate them like proxy/VPN servers. How many proxy services can you even name? Coding tools risk becoming unbranded commodities with zero loyalty.
