Ex-Tesla Optimus engineer says physical AGI still needs breakthroughs in video models and scaling laws

A former Tesla Optimus team member announced he left the robot team a few months ago. His work spanned low-latency visuomotor systems, on-edge model deployment, sim-to-real whole-body control and dexterity, and scaling imitation learning on large-scale human data.

He remains very bullish on scaling for robotics, especially scaling human data, but argues physical AGI still requires fundamental research on video models, scaling laws, and mastery. He will reveal his next move later.
