Berseth: Today's foundation models still solve Minsky's 1960s robot arm problem

Glen Berseth notes that in the 1960s, Minsky's lab already had a robot arm using computer vision to see object geometry, plan a path, and assemble parts. Today's foundation models are largely still solving the same class of problem — just far cheaper and faster to set up.
