Xi'an startup turns humanoid robot into LEGO-like modular platform MANTIS, priced under $1,500

Xi'an-based Blue Worm Robotics has turned its humanoid robot into a modular platform called MANTIS STANDARD, priced at over RMB 9,800 (under $1,500), built around 'one robot brain, flexible assembly':
- Full-body wheeled humanoid for general-purpose tasks
- Add robotic arms to the base for delivery or errands
- Desktop humanoid form for assistant or teaching roles
- Wheeled base plus upper body for inspection
Robotics researcher Chris Paxton, who shared it, says the direction is compelling: robotics is really many very different tasks, and a modular ecosystem could solve task diversity and platform consistency for scaling at once — noting LimX Dynamics' TRON2 as a similar effort.
