OpenAI Foundation commits $125M+ to 'Public Data for Health' science grants

The OpenAI Foundation launched its second science program, Public Data for Health, with over $125M in grants to nonprofits and universities for creating and openly sharing high-quality scientific datasets spanning molecules, epidemiology, and regulatory knowledge. The thesis: biology breakthroughs need pairing AI with more real-world observations, yet many high-value datasets lack institutional incentives to be built. Initial grantees include OpenADMET (open datasets, benchmarks, and blinded competitions). The foundation's first program, AI for Alzheimer's, launched in April.
