Investigation: EA Donors Paid Guardian $3M+; All Six in AI-Doom Article Funded by Same Three Foundations

An Effort investigation alleges the Effective Altruism ecosystem, via Dustin Moskovitz's Coefficient Giving and other megadonors, produces circular 'Potemkin' journalism. In a Guardian article on AI 2027, all six participants — publisher, reporter, quoted 'experts,' and subject Daniel Kokotajlo — were funded by the same three foundations: the Guardian received $3M+, reporter Aisha Down's salary came via the Tarbell Fellowship, and AI 2027 got $400K from Coefficient plus $2M from SFF, none disclosed in the piece. The report also notes AI 2027's authors admitted their predictions were off by years, if not decades.
