Jensen Huang says '10% extinction' claims are made-up numbers and 'irresponsible' to publish

NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang says you shouldn't even try to explain a "10% chance of extinction" to ordinary people, because the number is made up.
He argued that while these researchers are well-educated lab scientists, conflating jargon with apocalyptic predictions is alarming and irresponsible. He cited failed forecasts: claims that radiology would be fully taken over by AI in five years proved exactly wrong, and predictions that 90% of code would be AI-generated within 6-12 months also didn't pan out.
