850M scraped birthdays + AI-built site: a programmatic SEO play with 20k/mo keywords
iannuttall · x · 2026-09-15
Someone scraped 85 million birthdays and used Astra to build a site telling you how rare your birthday is. Commenter iannuttall argues it's a perfect programmatic SEO opportunity: the same dataset can answer birthday-rarity questions with real search volume — "most common birthday" (20k/mo), "how rare is my birthday" (4.1k), "least common birthday" (2.6k), "most common birth month" (2k). He suggests capturing gender and country via IP to build a proprietary dataset. Similar data sites of his earn links from the New York Times (DR 94), universities, and other DR 80+ outlets.
