YuE2 Instrumental LoRA: 2,700 tracks, timestamped section control
thatisnotmychapstick · reddit · 2026-09-15
The author released an instrumental LoRA for the open-source music model YuE2, trained on 2,700 instrumental tracks across 100+ genres.
- Three ways to prompt the lyrics field:
- Bare [instrumental]: model picks structure and length.
- Untimed tags: you set the section order ([intro] [verse] [chorus]…), model picks timing.
- Timed tags: give each section a start/end in m:ss — the strongest steer, since training used exact real-track section times. The model follows section order and proportions better than absolute end times, and tends toward 3–5 minute songs regardless of the plan.
- Enabling chain-of-thought (COT=full) at inference markedly improves the hit rate for instrumental-only output.
- Samples are on the author's YouTube channel.
