AI model paints Golden Gate Bridge with a real robot arm, now reproduced in MuJoCo and open-sourced

Developer cdngdev gave the astra model a SO-101 robot arm, a paint brush and a camera, and asked it to paint the Golden Gate Bridge — the model figured out how to control the robot and progressively improved across attempts.

Hugging Face's mishig then reproduced the experiment in MuJoCo simulation, having the model paint the Eiffel Tower, and open-sourced everything as the mishig/so101-painting HF bucket: 126 files including attempt records, a learning report, comparison images and scripts, plus a ready-to-use prompt for coding agents to set up and rerun the simulation (uv for env management, checksum verification, starting from attempt 04's settings).
