Economists clash over Acemoglu's pro-worker AI arguments

MIT economist Andrey Fradkin counters Acemoglu's "pro-worker AI" arguments in three points: AGI is pursued because market demand funds it; there's a natural division of labor — labs build AGI, the rest of the economy finds applications; and it is nearly impossible to ex-ante distinguish pro-worker from labor-substituting AI. The retweeder agrees it's just basic incentive analysis.
