FT: UKAISI denied pre-release access to Mythos 5.1, UK MPs warn of security risk

The FT reports that UKAISI did not get pre-release access to the frontier model Mythos 5.1, sparking alarm in UK AI safety circles.
- MP Danny Kruger called it hugely concerning: the UK risks losing frontier access right as recursive self-improvement may be kicking in, and urged the government to pursue all diplomatic options, including building secure, verifiable compute for allies.
- Theo Bearman argued UKAISI is the best-equipped government-housed AI safety and evaluation outfit, offering value to the USG via joint testing and helping assess Chinese AI models; losing pre-release access to American frontier models would make both countries poorer.
