Jack Thorne, screenwriter of Netflix's award-winning Adolescence and author of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, has accused peers of "cheating" by using AI to generate scripts.
He is calling on the UK government to punish writers who pass off AI-generated work as their own, arguing it constitutes fraud and that commissioning companies should be entitled to prosecute. His remarks, delivered via the Writers' Guild, add fuel to the debate over AI's role in creative writing.
