Developer arthurcolle shared an accounting of his AI usage from Oct 1, 2025 to Sep 15, 2026: roughly $30,450 in notional token spend, of which only about $13 was actually billed beyond his subscription quotas, which themselves totaled $4,260 over the period. Heavy usage was almost entirely absorbed by subscription allowances, making fixed plans far cheaper than pay-per-token billing.
