- Engineers with end-to-end system context (architecture, edge cases, decision history) can describe the solution to an agent and get a working draft before the meeting ends.
- Prerequisite: this works for high-agency engineers; without that context, planning still does real work.
- Not "kill all planning": ambiguous problems, cross-team dependencies, and expensive-to-reverse decisions still need it. The point is calibration — spend planning time proportional to actual uncertainty, not as a fixed biweekly ritual.
- Teams should re-examine which rituals AI has rendered moot.
