YuE2 tested: the first real local Suno rival, near-Suno covers on 8GB VRAM
lazyspock · reddit · 2026-09-15
Early hands-on with YuE2 (via a ComfyUI merge, not yet in stable): the INT8 CONROT variant needs 8GB VRAM and generates a 4-minute song in 120–150s on an RTX 4070. Verdict: prompt-only songwriting still trails retired Suno 5.5-era models (author skips Suno V6 as "trash"), but YuE2 beats every other local music model, and its cover conversion is nearly Suno-quality with no filters, though genre knowledge is uneven. Test covers of the public-domain "Poor Me Blues" are linked.
