From Gutenberg to AI: Power Fears Frontier Intelligence on Every Desktop

Opening post (1/8) of the thread: the author argues that those in power do not fear AI in the hands of other governments or oligarchs — they fear frontier intelligence on everyone's desktop: decentralized intelligence and freedom of knowledge and thought.

When a new medium lets ordinary people reach knowledge once guarded by power, money and control, the response is never debate but licensing, blacklists, monopolies (often via regulation) and panic. It happened after Gutenberg, and it is happening again with AI.
