A new University of Pennsylvania course, CIS 6280 · World Models, taught by Thomas Gu and colleagues, is now publicly available with all slides, demos, and readings online. The course argues that world models — learning from observing and interacting with the world rather than just from human-written text — are one of AI's next big bets. Topics span representation learning, generative models, simulation, model-based RL, video and 3D generation, world models for robotics, reasoning, and code-based world models, with substantial hands-on work.
