Daniel Kokotajlo, former OpenAI researcher and AI 2027 co-author, says the chance of a misaligned AI takeover is far above 10% — roughly 70% overall, and near 90% if we don't slow down. He argues ordinary people should be scared, himself included, but then must move past fear and act.
