Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella opened the All-In Summit with wide-ranging AI remarks:
- Safety: opposed pausing AI, saying humans must stay in control but we are "growing" intelligence we don't fully understand, needing competent devops to monitor it; supports third-party testing and broad AI diffusion.
- Risk: dismissed the 10% extinction odds — "if you see a show stopper, just stop the show."
- Overhang: massive model capability overhang exists; the gap is business and consumer adoption, not model quality.
- Tech proposal: called for KV cache standards so different model families can share caches.
- Economics: token price compression from frontier labs will make applications far more viable.
