C3 AI's DIA paper accepted at EMNLP 2026, tops all seven SQL benchmarks autonomously

C3 AI's paper "Data Intelligence Agents" was accepted to EMNLP 2026. DIA is a three-agent system (Data Interpreter, Schema Creator, Query Generator) that treats autonomous coding agents as a first-class abstraction: agents generate, execute, validate and repair concrete artifacts with a shared memory, replacing lossy handoffs between data owners, engineers and analysts. Deployed in production, its Query Generator matched or beat the best published results on all seven SQL benchmarks spanning four task categories and four dialects, requiring only natural-language adaptation.
