VC firm SV Angel has hired former White House press secretary Jay Carney as General Partner and Head of Public Policy, launching Project Blueprint — an initiative to build consensus between tech founders and lawmakers on AI policy.
- Focus areas: frontier model governance/safety/privacy, national security and the AI race, workforce transition and wealth concentration, and data center energy demands.
- The firm aims to be a bridge connecting portfolio founders with policymakers in Washington and state capitals.
- OpenAI's Sam Altman, Anthropic's Dario Amodei, and Google DeepMind's Demis Hassabis all voiced support for the launch.
