Open-source project Hypit draws a key distinction: generating a video and compiling one are different things. It models video production as a structured workflow rather than a single generative call — narrative, speakers, segments, footage, captions, B-roll, components, compositing and rendering all stay explicit, so coding agents (Claude Code, Codex, etc.) can clone that structure from a reference video, modify nodes, and compile the output.
