Claude Opus 5.2 spotted in grayscale testing on Claude Code, seemingly skipping 5.1
Angaisb_ · x · 2026-09-15
Users spotted slugs explicitly referencing "Opus 5.2" in Claude Code, suggesting Anthropic will skip 5.1 and ship Opus 5.2 directly, currently grayscale-tested under the "Opus 5" name. Side-by-side outputs show a large difference vs. the older model still serving web requests, even without search. The poster is unimpressed, saying they need a new Fable instead.
