DeepMind's AlphaGenome Atlas Scores All 9 Billion Possible DNA Variants, Free for Research

dl_weekly · x · 2026-09-15

Google DeepMind released AlphaGenome Atlas, a 1-petabyte predictive map scoring the molecular effects of all 9 billion possible single-nucleotide variants in the human genome — the most comprehensive catalogue of how mutations impact molecular biology. Built by precomputing AlphaGenome's predictions at scale, it gives researchers a genome-wide view where per-variant lab testing is infeasible. It's available free for noncommercial academic research via a web portal, with an accompanying paper.
