Apple has reversed its stance on using customer data to train AI: iOS 27 will prompt users to opt in to training on their Siri conversations, admitting the data may be reviewed by personnel — unclear if Apple employees or contractors. Apple previously claimed it didn't need customer data and relied on controversial differential privacy methods. Delip Rao argues it was inevitable and Apple may be the one company he'd voluntarily share data with.
