Researchers from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Tsinghua University, ByteDance, Shanghai AI Lab and others have released a 75-page paper titled "The Last AI Built by Humans: Toward Genuine Recursive Self-Improvement," exploring what happens when AI stops waiting for humans to improve it and how genuine recursive self-improvement could be achieved.
