On cognition and embodiment: what gets lost when AI compresses the world

Drawing on John Vervaeke's 4E (embodied, embedded, extended, enactive) and 4P frameworks, the author argues cognition can't be reduced to a brain in a box. She reflects on why LLMs feel reductive, what compression discards—data whose utility we couldn't quantify may not have been vestigial—and whether vibes matter more than we thought. She'll explore these questions in a talk at valiocon.
