Next-Passenger7430 · reddit · 2026-09-14
A Reddit user pulled the entire official MCP registry API and collapsed versions, revealing: 101,219 entries are just 31,309 distinct servers (69% old-version dupes); 7,090 servers (22.6%) have no repo, 6,484 of them remote-only with unreadable code; the top three hosts account for 14.5% of everything; monthly new servers exploded from 456 (Sep 2025) to 6,673 (Aug 2026). The author released Marklode Verify (RapidAPI) and an Apify scraper, and will publish refreshed numbers monthly.
