OpenAI Cofounder: Labs Have Warned About Extinction Risk for a Decade, Not to Pump Stocks

jeremiecharris confirms Jack Clark has been saying the same thing in private conversations well before Anthropic was even founded, quoting Clark: "Many of us have been saying roughly the same thing for literally ten years, including me and Dario!"
He argues that while the labs deserve plenty of criticism, the claim that they only warn about extinction risk now to pump the stock is wild.
