Companies with privileged frontier model access are reselling training traces to unknown buyers, researcher claims
andriy_mulyar · x · 2026-09-14
Researcher andriymulyar claims that over the past month many env companies backed by OpenAI/Anthropic/YC investments have used their elevated model privileges to resell frontier model traces to buyers of unknown origin — a gray market that exists, he suggests, because labs don't want those environments themselves. Unverified, but points to a hidden market for RL environment data.
