Developer @Okayanshu built Hookah Baar, a browser-based virtual hookah lounge with no tobacco, nicotine, or real smoke — but a surprisingly creative interaction loop:
- Uses your webcam and hand gestures for everything: close your fist to pick up the pipe, bring it to your mouth to inhale, move away and blow out the smoke
- 16 flavors to choose from, mixable 50/50, plus a random option
- All processing stays local (nothing recorded or uploaded); gated behind an 18+ check with health disclaimers throughout
- Built with Google MediaPipe for gesture recognition, shared under #buildinpublic
