Microsoft AI Publishes Humanist AI Code of Conduct Draft for Public Consultation, Guiding 2027 Models

Microsoft AI has published a draft Humanist AI Code of Conduct outlining the intended behaviors and values of its MAI models, which will serve as the models' primary governing document.
- The document is still under development and is not yet used to train current models;
- Microsoft is sharing it broadly for public consultation, with a revised version due toward the end of the year;
- The final version will guide model development from 2027 onward.
A rare move among frontier labs: publishing a model code of conduct as a public consultation rather than a finished policy.
