Some $20 ChatGPT users report no 5-hour limit, only weekly caps
noletovictor · reddit · 2026-09-14
A Reddit user with a $20 ChatGPT Pro subscription discovered their account has no 5-hour session limit — only a weekly cap that ran out alarmingly fast, forcing a near week-long wait after a single day of use.
Oddly, several colleagues on the same $20 plan do have the 5-hour limit. The poster shared screenshots comparing their Usage & Billing page with a friend's, asking if something is wrong with the account. The thread suggests OpenAI may be applying different rate-limit configurations to different accounts.
